Your Local Guide to Christmas Shopping
We are so lucky to have some amazing makers and creators in Berowra and the Hornsby Shire. This blog features eight local businesses that produce unique and beautiful handmade gifts.
With a bit of planning you can forget about the last minute trip to the Westfield for Christmas shopping - instead support our local economy and give something special this year that is sure to be loved.
The Mulberry Two
Raised among the boughs of a mighty mulberry tree, The Mulberry Two are a sibling duo who hand carve bespoke wooden homewares. A passion for sustainability is at the heart of their work - materials are sourced from locally fallen backyard trees; production methods are simple involving traditional hand whittling and minimal machinery; and wares are mindfully packaging in upcycled naturally dyed fabrics. Like the trees they are created from, each piece crafted by this duo is truly unique.

The Bee Queen
Bee Queen beeswax wraps are handmade in Hornsby and created with saving the planet in mind. A reusable alternative to cling film and plastic bags, they are the gift that keeps on giving; not only do they reduce the amount of single use plastic from your everyday lives, they also keep foods fresher for longer. This is the type of gift that won’t be tossed in the bin the next day - perfect for Secret Santa! It is much better to give a useful gift rather than one that gets a laugh then landfill.
The Bee Queen range offers a variety of gift options: from two of the same size wrap, right up to 12 wraps, three of each size! A great tip is to purchase a Mega Pack, 12 wraps, and split it up into three packs of four - that’s three gifts in one! If you want to do this, the Bee Queen is happy to include extra labels so they look like the beautiful gifts they are.
